Secondary Professions

I've been slacking on my secondary professions big time. I got my First Aid up to 450 over the weekend but I'm still trying to get my cooking and fishing up. My Cooking isn't so bad, only problem I'm having with cooking is lack of recipes and the sudden need for more memory in my PC so I can actually go to Lagaran. Seems every time I try to go there to do my cooking daily, to try and turn in emblems, run VH, etc I get connected. Only thing I can think is that I need to upgrade the memory in my craptop.

My fishing, yikes has been neglected. I mean I'm 80 and my fishing isn't even 300 yet. It's not even 275. Yeesh!! I know I need to sit down and do some fishing, maybe next time I put myself in a que for heroics, I'll just sit somewhere and work on getting my fishing up.

Why are these professions important? Cooking/Fishing offer nice buffs to a stat. While first aid allows you to put on bandages to help "heal" you up. I don't think it matters what class or race you are. Each of these professions will benefit you. I'm sure you're saying, why would a healer need to know their first aid. First aid could benefit even the healer by being able to throw on a bandage to help save some mana for something else.

Now get to work on your secondary profession.

Question everything....

Let me be the first to thank my fellow guildie, Horkus. The man knows his shit about the rogue class. Now granted I scour the web for all information about the rogue class and I by far know I don't know it all about the class. Yes I played a Night Elf Rogue to 70 in BC, but I leveled Assassination and didn't switch to combat till far to late in the game.

Well Hork, tweaked my rotation and helped keep my morale up when I just wasn't feeling all that great about my class. My advice is to find someone that plays your class well. Someone that you can question and will give you good advice. Right now I'm one of a very few Rogues in our guild that plays regularly and I want to advance into actually raiding with everyone else. Now I realize that these Heroic Dungeons (or Normal for that manner) are important to getting your timing down, for upgrading gear and for learning.

So pug them, run them with a guildie. It doesn't matter. If you wipe, try and learn something from it and chalk it up to experience and for goodness sake, Find a mentor you can bounce things off of.

Lack of blogging

Yes I know it's been a while since I have blogged. I have made it to level 73 and got my Alchemy up to level 450. I'm plugging right along. I am currently leveling up in Borean Tundra and have finished almost all quests. I have ventured to Dragonblight to get the first flight path, so that might be my next area or I may go back to Howling Fjord and picked up where I left there.

Patch 3.2 has come out and I honestly didn't get a chance to really play last night to see much. However I did get to a alchemy trainer and grab the new transmute recipes and the new Alchemy recipes. I like to stay as current as I can with my professions. Though I need to get my Fishing up to a respectable level as well as find the Heavy Frost Weave bandage recipe and get my cooking up.

I'm pretty excited about the chance to learn one hand axes. I'll probably start running around with one in my off hand to cget that up. There are some pretty cool looking axes out there.

With that I will leave you with a couple of my new screen shots.

Moving along

Last night, I killed many of Ogres in Blade's Edge Mountains and once I turned in the quest, BAM I hit level 68. I've done it, I can officially head over to Nothern and actually quest. That being said, I'm not sure I"m ready to jump into the new content of Wrath of Lich King. I have so many things I want to do. I really want to get to 70 and do Kara. I never got to see it and that was all my friends use to talk about(Similar to how everyone talks about Naxx now).

Hitting 68 also lead me to the decision on what to do with my Alchemy Mastery. I thought about doing Exlir Mastery, but I went to the quest and they wanted me to head into Black Morass, which means I'd have to do Old Hillsbrad and all that. So I figured with recent removal of cooldowns to some of the old Burning Crusade transmutes (ie Primal Might) that I can take up Tranmutation for now and then change later if I want (It only cost me 4 Primal Mights for my Tranmutation Mastery). Though I haven't made any transmutes yet, I'm hoping to see how this proc works.

Made it to Outlands

Made to Outlands finally. Had a unsuccessful run through Ramparts and I've closed out on some quests.

In other news, We broke down and got another account and transfered my toon over so Norrac and Eiramamme can play at the same time. Hopefully I'll be able to catch her a little bit as she's made it to Zangermarsh and is at lvl 63. I'm only at 59. Just have to get it running on my PC so I can play.

The Sunken Temple

Had a nice little run though Sunken Temple on Thursday night. Got into a pug with a Hunter, Ret Pally, Shaman and Priest. No wipes and did it rather quickly. The Priest was awesome with her heals and the Ret Pally did a good job tanking (even if he's not specced to tank.

I was able to go up almost a whole level just from the run and hit it when I turned in the quests.

Enough is enough..it's time to level

Figure it's time to start really leveling. I've played the game before as a Night Elf Rogue, so I know the ins and outs of my character. However I had been following the story line somewhat more in detail this time around and have spent WAY WAY to much time in the Auction House making gold (Have almost 500g on my toon) However people have flown by me level wise. I'm still sitting at 49 and it was time to wipe the quest log clean and move past the green quests and on to yellow and orange quests.

This took me to Un'Goro Crater. I was never a fan of the Crater on previous toons, but I know I'll be able to level pretty well there. Bad thing is the Crater is a big area for both Alliance and Horde and playing a PVP server just makes it all that much more fun.

Guess it's time to level up and get to 58 so I can actually get to Outlands so I can get some Ramparts runs in .

Professions.....

I've had the time to play, not nearly as much as my significant other. She's leveled herself up to level 43 in about 3 weeks, pretty impressive since I'm at level 43 since the middle of December. Guess it's time to put the old nose to the grind stone get some levels.

Recently I've been putting a lot of time into my Professions. My Alchemy and Herbalism is at 275 and cooking and First Aid are over 225. Fishing I've been slacking a bit as I'm just above 150 but I'll continue to work on that.

Just recently picked up the Transmute Mithril to Truesilver and transmute Arcanite bars. Both are decent money makers. I also grabbed the Ghost Dye Recipe and Goblin Rocket Fuel. I think I know most of the recipes I can at my level and I check the Auction House everyday for Alchemy Recipes.

Right now most of the herbs I need are in areas higher than my level, which makes it harder to level but still make it interesting. Time to start doing some of the Dungeons (ie Scarlet Monestary, Uldaman, Etc)

Times are slow

Well my fiance has been playing a hunter on my account so my time has been a bit lacking. However I hit level 35 last night and was able to increase my Alchemy to level 300 which is nice. I'll be increasing my alchemy tonight and hopefully making my philospher's stone. I am currently heading back to Arathi Highlands to gather some Goldthorn.

Finally Hit 30

Hit 30 a few days ago and I just hit 31 today. Guess I'm leveling slower that some, but I'm what I call a casual gamer as I only play a few nights a week and for an hour or maybe two tops. Guess that may keep me out of end gaming who knows. I do need to get in a couple Dungeons here to up my gear. I think my next post will be about some of the add-ons that I use.
